Linaro Connect

Linaro are a leading tech company who bring together industry and the open source community to collaborate on the ARM eco system. Linaro employees are based worldwide, Linaro Connect is a bi-annual event which brings together engineers and industry experts to discuss, learn, network and push forward new technologies for five days in some of the most interesting cities around the world. Since working with Linaro NAV have supported Connect events in; multiple events in San Francisco, Las Vegas, China, Hong Kong and Budapest.

Solution

Pre-production for our Event Manager started many months before the actual event took place. A site visit was undertaken to ascertain key event logistics including; access, power availability, room space, network speeds, rigging points, breakout/syndicate spaces etc.

The kit was sent in advance via road transport with the 10 person rigging and show crew flying out prior to the rig day. The main plenary room with seating for 450 delegates was the focal point of the week long event. Key daily sessions centered around a large 8.5m truss frame screen set-up with dual 10k laser projection in high definition. The projectors, line array sound system and stage lighting were flown on a truss bar from the motorised venue rigging points.

Tech events require a flexible approach and are something over the years we have considerable experience in, they often feature multiple presenters in a session show casing bleeding edge technology. Employing 4x HD event switchers our crew facilitated up to 10x high definition feeds to and from stage via multiple live cameras, laptops and demo boards all projected on split screen or pic-in-pic style layouts, depending on the presenters specific requirements. The main room sessions were also streamed live on Facebook and YouTube for remote viewers.

After each daily plenary the delegates attend multiple syndicate sessions, each one supported by a technician. The syndicate rooms facilitated dual LED projection and a PA sound system for up to 50 people. Each track room was recorded in HD and edited on site by our video editor. The video content from each session was then approved by the client and uploaded to YouTube during the following day.

The final part of our Event Production and Support service was to produce all the video and photography for the event. Our crew are well versed in event video production and covered vox pop interviews with keynote speakers, event promotional videos for social media, they also shot 500+ photos of conference and social events throughout the week. All the media was produced on-site, edited and uploaded within 1 hour of the conference close on the Friday afternoon;.
