Exhibition & Presentation Filming
The Grounds Management Association (GMA) formerly the Institute of Groundsmanship, is a national not for profit organisation who promote quality surfaces and quality services, with the intent of establishing the GMA as 'the' leading professional organisation for grounds management in the UK. After a one year absence to due to the Covid-19 pandemic, their annual Exhibition SALTEX roared back into life and celebrated a very memorable 75th anniversary.
The GMA met NAV at another event, where we were looking after all the filming and content recording at a National conference. It was quickly established that the service we were delivering at that event would be highly beneficial for recording all the CPD content in the Learning Theatres at SALTEX 2021, Europe’s largest annual turf management event held annually at the NEC, Birmingham. Filming each of the seminar theatres was identified as a perfect way of extending the reach and educational value of the content way beyond the 7,500 exhibition industry professionals that attended over the two days.
NAV are event content recording specialists, over the years alongside our general events work we have developed our filming processes to efficiently and importantly cost effectively, capture conference content.
Producing CPD or Learning and Development videos from conference or seminar lectures post event can prove time consuming and therefore can also be a costly process. Simply filming a presentation from the back of a room is unlikely to sufficiently capture any on-screen PowerPoint content, which will usually be intrinsic to the usability of the recorded content. Whilst it is possible to add PowerPoint slides during an edit you can’t easily include any slide builds or animations, even just including static slides as jpeg images exported from PowerPoint can be very time consuming. Multiply this across a number of presentations and as in this case a number of Theatres, for multiple days and the post production process and associated costs would be considerable.
SALTEX 2021 featured three Learning Theatres, each hosted 45 minute seminars and discussion on a variety of industry topics. We provided 3x experienced event camera operators with professional camera set-ups, high definition recorders and HD video mixers. The recordings were ‘web-ready’ HD .MP4’s with each presenter in close-up and a picture-in-picture window of all their PowerPoint content in the bottom corner. This streamlined approach ensured any subsequent editing was limited to just an intro and outro screen for each session.
