Live Stream Event

When London Music Masters were looking to live stream an event during the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown, they chose NAV as their live stream production company. Our experience in both live events and web streaming meant we were able to work with the LLM team in the planning stages, through the rehearsals to the live stream of the virtual event.

Solution

Under normal event circumstances we would generally run a live stream from a client’s premises, looking after both the live element of the event within the room and the online stream output. The lockdown and restriction of travel and events meant on this occasion the whole event was to be virtual, therefore all the content was broadcast from our studio remotely.

We utilised a broadcast software suite, live streaming the content as a H.265 High Efficiency Video Coding (HVEC) to maximise bandwidth (50% less upload speed is required than streaming a H.264 codec). Our production studio software also facilitates bringing in remote live guests via a simple to use click-on browser link. Guests wait in a virtual green room and can then be seamlessly included in the live stream output as required. Video content and PowerPoint can also be easily shared by the host and remote guest presenters.

The live stream was hosted online on a secure webpage, which can be made to be password only accessible if required, although on this occasion as it was a public event it was widely shared, embedded on the client’s website, as well broadcast on their social media via Facebook Live. We were able to give the client live analytics, viewer numbers etc. Throughout the live stream and after the event.

Client Comment

We were very pleased with the customer service NAV provided. Not only were they flexible with our last minute changes, but they also asked all the necessary questions. As a charity, this was our first online fundraising event and it proved to be a great success. Stuart and Dale ensured that there was time for multiple rehearsals and were quick to respond to any queries we had.

The production of the evening was slick, smooth and most importantly, engaged our audience in a positive way. We now feel much more confident in organising future virtual events and are hugely appreciative to the guidance and support NAV provided us with.
